Offered is one yard of Schumacher Royal Silk Embroidery fabric.
What Makes It Special
Lavishly done in fine silk, this is a depiction of the dress worn by Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century Hardwick Portrait, which English noblewoman Bess of Hardwick hung in Hardwick Hall to show her undying support for the queen, her sometimes enemy. Scholars think Bess’s own hand created the wildly inventive, highly symbolic embroidery in the queen’s gown—which is faithfully reproduced in this exquisite fabric.
